Meet the Teachers
I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming school with a strong emphasis on pastoral care alongside a rigorous academic education tailored to the needs of the individual. Every pupil has the opportunity to succeed and flourish, whilst being thoroughly prepared for adulthood. I look forward to meeting you and working together.
Zebra Class
In Zebra Class we have a strong focus upon friendship to ensure all of our pupils feel like they are part of a family when they are amongst their peers and adults in the class. We believe that all children need to feel safe, secure and happy at school in order to achieve their potential.
We work in small groups and in a range of ways to meet the needs of all. We make sure that learning is fun so that everyone enjoys taking on new challenges and are proud of what they do. Zebra students describe the class as 'calm', 'fun' and 'happy' and love the outdoor play area.
Giraffe Class
Hi we are the Giraffe Class. Mrs Armstrong is the class Teacher. Miss Carr Miss Grandini and Miss Blake are our Teaching Assistants. We are very lucky to have a lovely big bright classroom. We have a large area outside some of which is under cover. The programme of study for the Primary Department is in-corporated into a termly topic alongside a strong emphasis on learning skills. There are times during the term when subjects are taught as part of the topic and times when subjects are taught discretely. Cross curricular links are also made to reinforce learning. It is important our children learn basic skills across the curriculum to provide a firm foundation to their learning. There is a strong emphasis on our curriculum being practical, stimulating and interactive, so regular opportunities for visits.
The Media Team
Media Arts College - the clue's in the title.
Here at Collingwood, we pride ourselves in putting Media at the heart of our learning offer. We have a long history of innovative, exciting projects, working with a range of partners including the BBC, and delivery of an exciting, practical and motivating curriculum for our pupils. Specialist equipment and highly skilled Media teaching and support staff provide experiences which few other schools can offer.
